Hexagon head bolt with DIN 6921 flange

In the fields of heavy engineering and the automotive industry, there is a need to provide bolted connections of high reliability and strength in places that are subject to frequent dynamic actions, for example, the frame of a truck trailer, engine cover or hinges on car doors. A DIN 6921 flanged hex head bolt is suitable for these purposes. Due to its high strength, the presence of a hexagonal head with a flange or a “press washer”, such a connection is protected from self-unscrewing under any, even very strong, vibration loads in the seating areas. The design of the flange itself can be of 2 types: a round, smooth surface or covered with teeth (special locking notches). It is these notches that provide the stopper effect, increasing the force of friction, which makes such a connection highly reliable and the bolts do not unscrew under any impact. But the smooth surface increases the area of contact with the product.

Let’s consider the main characteristics of the product:

material: carbon steel with strength class 8.8, 10.9, 12.9, stainless steel, polyamide thread: full/incomplete (M5-M16) galvanizing (galvanic method) length 30-200 (mm) Among other things, it should be noted that metal products of this configuration can to be used in any production areas in those fastening bolted connections that are exposed to additional aggressive environmental influences, such as oil production. It is an indispensable element for heavy metal constructions of oil towers.
