Erikson flat head nut (JCN) is used in furniture production to connect and clamp wood elements. Practical in use with MDF, OSB, fiberboard, chipboard and plywood.
A characteristic feature of the furniture nut is its special shape and internal metric thread.
It is fastened into a pre-prepared hole, which should be slightly wider or match the outer diameter of the nut, using a hexagon socket wrench. It is used in conjunction with screws, bolts and other fasteners with external threads.
The Erikson nut is made of carbon steel with various types of coating: galvanized, nickel-plated, and chrome-plated.
