Low nuts DIN 439, GOST 5916, ISO 4035 are used to fix bolted and studded connections where it is necessary to lighten the structure, as well as a contrasting element. It is widely used in instrumentation and mechanical engineering due to its contrasting features A wide range of sizes allows it to be used in both small and large assemblies where there are no tensile loads.

For low nuts, the strength class designation differs from normal or high nuts (04, 05): Cl.pr.x100 = … N/mm2 (test load value). For example, 4×100 = 400 N/mm2, where “0” means that the nut is not designed for tensile load.

Low nuts DIN 439 (GOST 5916) with the strength class designation 04 must be used with the strength class of bolted and studded connections: 5.8 and 6.8. The corresponding low nut with strength class 05 is used in combination with high-strength fasteners (8.8 or 10.9).

In terms of geometry, the low nut does not differ from normal nuts, except for its height.

According to DIN 439 or GOST 5916, it has half its diameter. For example, an M10 nut has a height of 5 mm.

The threads of all nuts work in a “crushing” manner, so when selecting fasteners, it is necessary to take into account the load on the assembly. The specialists of Eurobolt Ukraine will technically competently select fasteners for a longer service life of the connection.

Analogs of DIN 439-1:

ISO 4036 – low hex nuts without chamfer, accuracy class St.

Analogs of DIN 439-2:

ISO 4035 – low hex nuts with chamfer, accuracy classes A and B.
ISO 8675 – low hexagonal nuts with chamfer with metric fine thread, accuracy classes A and B.
DIN 439 is a low hexagonal nut with a chamfer, accuracy classes A and B.
GOST 5916-70 – hexagonal low-head nuts of precision class with thread diameters from 1 to 48 mm.
