The multi-lobed washer DIN 5406 is used to lock the DIN 981 spline round nut, manufactured in accordance with GOST 11872-89. It should be noted that the number and location of the legs in this fastener may vary, depending on the standard of the metal product (GOST or DIN).

There are two installation options for the DIN 5406 locking washer. One option involves bending the inner leg under the nut, the other from the nut. The outer legs are bent so that they are exactly aligned with the splines of the nut. This ensures reliable connection of threaded assemblies in areas subject to strong vibrations and rotations.

The material used for the DIN 5406 multi-lobed locking washer is carbon and stainless steel, which is corrosion-resistant. The choice of material depends on the location and operating conditions of the fasteners.
